Getting Started

Adding New Contacts

invi automatically adds all invi users that are in your Google Contacts.

Inbox >

= Your list of invi contacts.

If someone you want to invi is not showing, check that they are in your Google Contacts (with their latest phone number!). If they are not, add them to Google Contacts then re sync your contacts.

To Re-sync your invi contacts:

= Latest contact additions appear in your invi contacts list.

Deleting Contacts

If you delete a contact from your Google Contacts they will no longer show in your invi contacts.

Inviting Friends to Join invi

The more friends you have using invi with you the better your experience will be. Invite all of your friends to join you and share the invi way of texting. They will thank you for it!

Add/Change Your Cover Photo

Your cover photo identifies you to your friends on invi. As a new user your invi inbox will quickly become an amazing visual of all your friends' cover photos.

To change your photo:

Inbox >

> Application Settings > Change your cover photo > (Select Gallery, Camera, Facebook) > (crop your photo) > Save < Done

Pinch the arrows and move the box to select the area you want to crop.

Size of Cover Photo

The cover photo dimensions are 720x288 pixels

Add/Change Your Chat Photo

Your chat photo is the picture that appears next to your text, in chat, on invi.

Inbox >

>Application Settings> Change your chat photo > (Select Gallery, Camera or Facebook) > (crop your photo) > Save > Done

Size of Chat Photo

The chat photo dimensions are 96x96 pixels

Conversations

Main Screen:Inbox

As a new user, your inbox quickly fills with the cover photos of the friends you have had recent conversations with.

Most Recent Conversations

Your most recent conversations are at the top of your Inbox.

To continue a conversation find the cover photograph of your friend in your inbox and tap.

Receiving a New Message

When you receive a new message 'invi' will appear in your notifications, and the cover photo of the person who sent you the most recent message, will appear at the top of your inbox with the corner turned and the number of new messages indicated.

Sending a New Message

To invi a new contact go to >

then scroll down your list of invi contacts. Tap on the person you want to invi, then type your message.

Their reply will appear in your inbox.

If you want to invi someone who is not on your contact list you can invite them to join invi. See Inviting Friends to Join invi.

Cost of Messaging

The cost of sending messages is free as it is part of your phone contract data package.

To Delete a Conversation

To delete a conversation in your inbox long press the cover photo of that person and select 'Delete Chat'.

To Call a Person in your Inbox

To call a person in your inbox long press their cover photo and select call.

Chat:Texting and Sharing

invi is unique in its ability to share interactive content easily, allowing you and your friends to view shared content within your text conversation.

To share when in invi chat select

Sharing Video

YouTube is integrated with invi chat. To search for a video just:

YouTube Video > Search for the video you want and tap your chosen video. It will automatically send to the person with whom you are chatting.

To share video directly from YouTube.com

Go to the YouTube app > Search your video > Select your video > settings > Share > invi > (select the person in your invi contacts you want to share it with)

To Play Video in Chat

When a video arrives in your invi chat it will appear opaque. Tap the opaque picture, tap play and the video plays in chat.

You watch video and text at the same time as texting you must:

Inbox >

> 'PlayYouTube while texting' > (tick the box).

To share a video from chat to Facebook

Tap the video in chat >

> (select app you want to share to i.e Facebook)

To forward a video to another invi user

Tap the video in chat >

> (select invi friend you want to share it with)

Sharing Photos

To share a photo during a conversation:

(select app you want to find photo from) > (select photo) > photo will appear in your chat

You and your friend can both view the photo within chat. You can then use the invi action bar to further share your photo.

Sharing a Photo from Facebook to invi

You can easily share content such as photos and videos from your Facebook to your private chats in invi.

Go to Facebook and select the photo you want to share.

Settings > Share > invi > (select person to share with)

Changing your Name

At present you can not change your name but you can uninstall invi and then reinstall, registering with your preferred name.

Changing your Phone Number

At the moment you can not change your number but you can uninstall invi, then reinstall and register using your preferred number.
